Thrustmaster Wheel Bases

The wheel base forms the foundation of your racing controls. Explore Thrustmaster wheel bases and compare the steering technology, connection options and mounting requirements listed for each model.

Choose your Thrustmaster equipment

Match the base to your platform and steering wheel before choosing. A steering wheel, pedals, clamp or cockpit mounting kit may be sold separately; check the product's package contents.

Understand the role of the wheel base

The wheel base translates steering input and, on models equipped with force feedback, returns feedback from the simulation to the wheel. When comparing bases, look at the drive technology, adjustment options and the steering wheels supported by the exact model. A higher quoted force figure alone does not tell you how well a base will suit your space, preferred games or existing equipment.

Give mounting and ergonomics equal attention

Check the base's dimensions, mounting points and the space required for cables and ventilation. A desk clamp, wheel stand and cockpit plate are different mounting solutions; compatibility should be checked for the hardware you intend to use. Position the wheel so that you can steer comfortably without reaching forward or lifting your shoulders.

Build the rest of the system around the base

Before choosing, confirm the connection for your wheel rim, the pedal options and the way additional controls are connected. If an adaptor or separate mounting accessory is required, include it in your comparison. Consult the manufacturer's instructions for installation, firmware and configuration rather than assuming that every base follows the same process.

Frequently asked questions

Is a wheel base a complete racing wheel?

Not necessarily. A base sold separately may require a steering wheel, pedals and mounting hardware.
