Product details
A dedicated interface for GT and endurance racing
During a long race, a familiar control layout matters as much as the number of available functions. Map essential adjustments first: brake balance, traction control, pit limiter and radio. Place frequently used commands where you can reach them comfortably, then add secondary functions once the layout feels natural. A consistent arrangement across your preferred cars reduces the need to search for a control when the race becomes busy.
Construction and control feel
CNC-machined aluminium components and a 5 mm carbon-fibre front plate form the wheel’s structure. Custom over-moulded PU grips, 650 gf APEM switches and illuminated front encoders complete the interface. Height-adjustable shifters and clutch paddles let you position the rear controls around your hands.
Build a dashboard that supports your race strategy
Choose a display layout around the information you actually use. For sprint racing, a clear view of gear and engine speed may be your priority. For endurance sessions, consider the fuel information available in your chosen dashboard and simulation. Keep the most useful values easy to read rather than filling every available area with data.
RaceDirector provides the configuration environment for the wheel’s controls, display and lighting. Its dashboard selection and customisation tools let you organise your visual feedback around your preferred racing style. Select a supported layout, adjust the presentation and save a configuration you can return to for the next session. Available telemetry depends on the simulation and dashboard.
Configure the clutch paddles for your driving
The clutch system offers bite-point, dual-axis and button modes. Bite-point mode combines the paddles into one analogue input; dual-axis mode keeps the two inputs separate. Button mode provides an alternative use for the paddles. Calibrate the paddles before setting the bite point and test the result in your chosen car.
Plan your installation before the first race
The supplied Power Injector Box connects the wheel to your PC and power supply. Route the coiled cable so it can move freely through your intended steering range. Complete the connections before applying power, then install the display driver and configuration software. Check the inputs, paddle calibration and dashboard before entering a race.
Compatibility
Platform: a Windows PC setup with USB connectivity. Match the wheel’s game inputs and telemetry software to your chosen racing simulation.
Mechanical connection: the 6 × 70 mm hub interface requires a suitable wheel-side quick release or adapter for your wheelbase. Mechanical fit and USB communication are separate parts of the installation.
Software: use Sim-Lab RaceDirector for configuration. The manufacturer also documents SimHub support for advanced users. Consult the official Porsche 911 RSR wheel manual when setting up the display, paddles and power connections.

Recommended product combinations
Direct Drive: Simucube 3 Pro
For a high-end PC build, consider the Simucube 3 Pro Direct Drive Wheel Base. Plan the required Link Hub and your mounting solution alongside the base. A suitable Simucube Link Quick Release provides a wheel-side mounting option; check the wheel’s hub clearance and fasteners before assembly. The GRID wheel continues to use its own USB and power connections.
Braking control: Sim-Lab XP1
Combine the wheel with the Sim-Lab XP1 Loadcell Pedal Set for a PC cockpit with adjustable braking feel. The pedals and wheel can each be configured in RaceDirector. Choose the two-pedal set for paddle-shift driving, or the three-pedal configuration if your wider collection of cars calls for a foot-operated clutch.
Cockpit foundation: Sim-Lab P1X Pro
The Sim-Lab P1X Pro Sim Racing Cockpit is a fitting foundation for this type of build. Select the mounting configuration for your wheelbase and plan your seat and pedal position together. A comfortable driving position makes it easier to reach the wheel’s rear paddles throughout a long session.
Extra controls: Porsche 911 GT3 Cup buttonbox
Add the GRID Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (991) Button Box Console to extend the Porsche theme. Use the separate console for secondary commands, leaving your wheel layout focused on the adjustments you need while driving.
