A 9 Nm PC direct-drive wheel base with 21-bit magnetic encoder, NexGen 4.0 processing and flexible rig mounting.
The MOZA R9 V3 Direct Drive Wheel Base is the 9 Nm step in MOZA's PC wheel-base range. It is a standalone base, so a wheel and pedals are separate. The R9 V3 combines a 21-bit magnetic encoder, 1000 Hz USB refresh rate, aviation-grade aluminium housing and MOZA Pit House configuration with a compact four-hole mounting format.
Why choose this product?
- The 9 Nm direct-drive motor and 21-bit magnetic encoder provide a clear technical step above lower-torque MOZA bases without requiring the larger R12 V2 platform.
- Dedicated shifter, handbrake, pedal, dash and E-stop ports plus four-hole, side or optional desk mounting support a modular PC setup.
Product details
Motor, encoder and thermal system
The R9 V3 uses a high-performance 18-slot, 16-pole servo motor rated for 9 Nm peak torque and 180 W peak power. Its 21-bit magnetic encoder provides 2,097,152 positions per revolution. MOZA combines this hardware with NexGen 4.0 force-feedback processing, intelligent temperature monitoring and active cooling.
Connections, mounting and ecosystem
The base is specified for Windows PC and provides ports for power, pedals, E-stop, USB, dash, shifter and handbrake. MOZA quick release is used for compatible wheels. The standard mounting method is a four-hole bottom pattern; optional table clamp and side mounting are also supported. Steering wheel, pedals and optional mounts are separate.
R9 V3 versus R12 V2
The R9 V3 delivers 9 Nm, 180 W peak power and a 21-bit magnetic encoder. The active MOZA R12 V2 Direct Drive Wheel Base increases the official torque rating to 12 Nm and peak power to 216 W while retaining a 21-bit magnetic encoder. The R12 V2 also adds manufacturer-specified front mounting holes. That makes the choice a question of required torque class, mounting method and total setup rather than a simple assumption that the higher number is automatically better.
Compatibility
Platform: Windows PC.
Connection and ecosystem: The R9 V3 uses MOZA quick release and provides dedicated connections for MOZA-system peripherals including pedals, dash, shifter and handbrake.
Requirements: A compatible steering wheel, pedals, mains power, USB connection and suitable mounting surface are required. Use only steering wheels and accessories confirmed for the R9 V3; standalone console support is not manufacturer specified.

Frequently asked questions
Is the MOZA R9 V3 a complete racing bundle?
No. It is a standalone wheel base. A compatible steering wheel, pedals and mounting solution must be selected separately.
How much torque does the R9 V3 produce?
MOZA specifies 9 Nm peak torque and 180 W peak power for the R9 V3.
What is the main technical difference between R9 V3 and R12 V2?
The R9 V3 is rated at 9 Nm and 180 W, while the R12 V2 is rated at 12 Nm and 216 W. Both use 21-bit magnetic encoders; the R12 V2 also provides front-mounting holes.
Can the R9 V3 be mounted on a desk?
Yes, with an optional compatible table clamp. The standard base itself uses four bottom mounting holes, and MOZA also supports optional side mounting.
Does the R9 V3 work on PlayStation or Xbox?
MOZA specifies the R9 V3 for PC. No standalone PlayStation or Xbox support is confirmed for this product, so console compatibility should not be inferred from another MOZA device.
